7 Simple Things to Include in Your Morning Routine
How you start your day sets the tone for the rest of the day and if it’s Monday that could set the tone for the whole week. The best way to start off on the right track is to establish a morning routine. Below are 7 simple things to incorporate into your morning routine.
1) Wake up on time. Setting a daily alarm and getting up immediately when the alarm sounds sets the pace for your daily routine and the day. Arising at the same time each day soon becomes a habit and you will find your body going on time even when you don’t want to.
2) Make your bed. This simple habit takes less than a minute but gives you a sense of accomplishment and you are awarded with a tidy space to come home to later.
3) Prioritize your to-do list. Check your to-do list and pick a few things you must get done that day. Which ones are the most important.
4) Drink a glass of water. Drinking a glass of water flushes the impurities that your body has been working hard all night to get rid of.
5) Do a mini-workout. Some people start their day with a full work-out, but just a short 5-10 minute exercise routine does wonders to not only get your body moving but your mind too. Try some pushups, jumping jacks and stretching.
6) Listen or read something inspiring. Feeding your mind with something inspirational in the morning sets the tone for an inspiring day. Watch a short your tube video from your favorite guru. Read a page or two of your favorite book. Affirmations and prayers are also great ways to plant positivity in your mind for the day.
7) Don’t forget breakfast. Fuel your body with a healthy breakfast. Don’t overdo the sugar or simple carbs.
